The workshop started with introductions of the members present.

Nicole pointed out that the workshop would be beneficial as there was never an official orientation program at the beginning of the semester. Nicole also noted that the participants would benefit from Bernard’s experience in regional human rights litigation.

Issues discussed:

  • CLE experiences in Canada including their objectives, history, different types and modes of operation.
  • History of live client clinics in Africa and their roles.
  • Common denominators of the discussed scenarios above.
  • Brainstorming on the different teaching methodologies used in Canada.
  • History of Pilac
  • Potential impact of Legal Aid Clinics in society
