The public speaker series will consist of hosting a public presentation by an esteemed national or international human rights expert or practitioner at the School of Law. The objective is to generate interest, promote lively academic debate and engagement by the  law school student body and staff on topical public interest law issues.  In the second semester of the year 2011/2012, PILAC hosted the following public speakers:

  • Rashida Manjoo – UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women 
  • Margaret Sekaggya - Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human rights Defenders 
  • Bishop Zac Niringiye – Retired Assistant Bishop of Kampala Diocese 
  • Carlos Quesda – Latin America Director, Global Rights
